The EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation is gradually introducing harmonised packaging labels with standardised symbols and colours across the EU. Their purpose is to make correct sorting and recycling of packaging easier.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>While waiting for this, remember this simple rule: <em>Is it packaging? =&gt; Sort it into the recycling container for the packaging&#8217;s main material.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Do Not Leave Packaging in Nature<\/h3>\n<p>When packaging ends up in nature, it causes harm to the environment, animals, and people. In particular, single-use plastic packaging and plastic bags can remain in the environment for a long time and break down into microplastics.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Some compostable packaging is designed for industrial composting and is therefore not suitable for home composting.
