Rinkiin.fi is maintained by Finnish Packaging Recycling RINKI Ltd. Welcome to our new website! We inform both firms and consumers about current topics concerning recycling of packaging. On our website you will find instructions for sorting of packaging waste, information about recycling of packaging and producer responsibility as well as about the Rinki eco take-back points that will be opened at the beginning of 2016.
Consumers can bring household packaging waste to the Rinki eco take-back points free of charge. The Rinki eco take-back point network will have a minimum of 1,850 take-back points for carton, glass and metal packaging, and 500 points will accept plastic packaging. The network will be maintained by Finnish Packaging Recycling RINKI Ltd.
Finnish Packaging Recycling RINKI Ltd is a non-profit service firm founded in 1997 and owned by Finnish industry and retail trade. We provide firms with efficient and sustainable solutions for implementing producer responsibility. For consumers we offer a Rinki eco take-back point network for the collection of packaging waste from 1 January 2016.
Producer responsibility for packaging applies to producers or firms that pack or import packed products for the Finnish market and have a turnover of EUR 1 million or more. The legislation aims, among other things, to conserve natural resources and prevent damage to environment. When a firm signs a contract with Rinki, it transfers its legal obligation concerning packaging to producer organisations. Producer organisations are responsible, ensuring that the recycling targets stipulated by the law are achieved.
