Glass recycling refers to the process of turning collected glass waste into new products, materials or substances either for its original or a new purpose. Glass can be recycled indefinitely to make new packaging, for example, without compromising on quality or purity. Recycling saves natural resources and energy, and reduces carbon emissions and waste taken to landfills.
Recycled glass can be used in new packaging, glass wool and foam glass, for example. Depending on its intended use, glass is cleaned, sorted and crushed before it is recycled.
