A company pays the material-specific recycling fees determined by the producer organisations of its choice which Rinki invoices from the producers for and deposits with transfers to the producer organisations. In addition to the recycling fees, the company pays a one-off registration fee and an annual customer fee that Rinki invoices authorised by the producer organisations.

The recycling fees and customer fee for packaging are based on the price list and the packaging volumes used in the previous year by the company, that it reports to Rinki.

The recycling fees charged by Rinki cover the recycling of packaging placed on the Finnish market by the company and the recycling of consumer packaging in Finland. The collection of packaging waste from the company’s premises is not included in these fees.

The recycling fees cover:

  • The network of terminals for packaging waste from companies and for household packaging waste.
  • Transport of the material from the terminal to the processing plant
  • Recycling into new products or into raw material for new products

If a company’s material-specific recycling fee exceeds EUR 10,000, Rinki will invoice it in two equal instalments so that the second invoice is due 120 days after the first, but not later than 31 October. VAT is added to the fees.

We are a non-profit company

Did you know that Rinki and the producer organisations work on a non-profit basis? The fees paid by companies with producer responsibility go directly to the recycling operations.
