Glass can be recycled virtually forever. It stays clean and won’t lose its quality. Luckily, sorting glass is also easy! Check the sorting instructions here.
Sorting instructions for glass packaging
Please sort
empty glass packaging, with caps and lids removed:
- glass bottles
- glass jars
Collars and labels do not need to be removed.
Rinse dirty glass containers with cold water or wipe with paper. Recycle deposit glass bottles using a reverse vending machine at a shop.
If the glass packaging contains residues of hazardous substances (e.g. medicines, nail varnish, perfume), take the packaging to your local hazardous waste collection point.
Do not recycle any other type of waste with glass packaging.
Examples include glass tableware, porcelain, ceramics, crystal, window or mirror glass, lamps and lighting fixtures.
If incorrectly sorted, some types of waste, such as batteries and electrical and electronic equipment, can cause fires and other hazardous situations. You can find the nearest collection point for other types of waste at kierrätys.info.
